A Legacy of Heritage
The history of Mahuli Chor is deeply rooted in the rich heritage of the Nandgaon Khandeshwar region. The area's historical significance began with the construction of the Khandeshwar Temple in 1255 CE during the Yadava dynasty under Ramachandra's reign.
This architectural masterpiece, built under the supervision of the legendary Hemadri Pandit, showcases the distinctive Hemadpanthi style with interlocking black basalt stones assembled without mortar—a testament to medieval engineering that has endured for nearly 770 years.
